Siddharth corrects Boney Kapoor’s comment about Jr NTR being a “new face,” asserting that NTR is a well-established superstar. The debate between Kapoor, Naga Vamsi, and Siddharth over Bollywood-South Indian cinema dynamics has sparked online conversations about the evolving global influence of both industries
Producers Boney Kapoor and Naga Vamsi, along with actor Siddharth, recently engaged in a thought-provoking roundtable discussion about the global rise of South Indian and Bollywood cinema. While Kapoor highlighted Bollywood's past success with South Indian actors, Siddharth challenged his view, especially regarding Jr NTR's stardom.
Kapoor had mentioned the success of Ek Duuje Ke Liye, where Kamal Haasan’s debut in Hindi cinema was warmly embraced by the audience. He believed Bollywood could still achieve such collaborations, citing Jr NTR’s upcoming film with Aditya Chopra.
However, Siddharth and Vamsi were quick to disagree. Vamsi remarked, “Jr NTR is not a new face,” while Siddharth emphasized, "He’s one of the biggest superstars in the industry, working with one of the biggest film producers."
The conversation extended to the quality and market focus of Bollywood and South Indian cinema, with Vamsi noting that Bollywood primarily caters to Mumbai and Juhu audiences, and praised recent blockbusters like RRR, Jawan, and Baahubali for expanding Bollywood’s global reach.
While Kapoor defended Bollywood's mass-entertainment legacy, Vamsi argued that the key differences between the industries lay in film quality rather than language.
The debate has divided fans, with some criticizing Vamsi for disrespecting Kapoor, while others appreciated the healthy exchange of opinions. Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, however, slammed Vamsi’s attitude, calling it “fake and obnoxious.” Vamsi clarified that the discussion was a healthy debate, not a confrontation.
